These bloggers are not just concerned about achieving financial success but to carve a purposeful life that is friendly to the world.

1. Elizabeth Tai Well, me, yes, me! My blog centres around implementing minimalism principles and good money management in one’s life. It initially started as a place to park my portfolio, but it has become a “commonplace book” for everything that I’m learning.

2. Atiqah Nadiah I am totally hooked by Atiqah’s blog because she writes about combining solid financial principles with a sustainable living principles like the zero waste lifestyle.

3. Mr Stingy is a master at writing in-depth articles about carving an intentional life with good personal finance principles baked in.

4. Dear Duit talks about personal finance from more holistic perspective. I like that she writes about the psychological aspects of personal finance such as financial abuse, mental blocks and more.

5. A’ishah K shares contemplative posts about minimalism, money and her life. I wish she updated more, but she has a solid archive for you to go through.

6. Mimirello Kadazan entrepreneur Marion St Joan shares content on personal finance, sustainable living and cooking.

7. Bean Musing has a few personal finance articles, but does not want to limit it to that focus. (I feel you!) Still when he/she writes them, they’re great, which is why I include the blog here!

8. I’m FunEmployed mostly shares about how she manages her money – I have a serious addiction for her monthly reports – but one of her most impactful posts (to me, anyway) is about how she took a career sabbatical (hence the name “funemloyed”).

9. JewelPie covers personal finance, minimalism, and lifestyle topics such as decor, food and wellness. She also writes about gardening – her gardens are gorgeous!

10. Ameruddin Ibrahim keeps a blog where he not just talks about personal finance, but of productivity and life philosophy. Written in Malay.

Investing, savings, debt busting? These bloggers explore all facets of personal finance.

1. Ringgit oh Ringgit is the queen of the Malaysian personal finance blogosphere, Suraya offers good tips on debt reduction, investment and is a good resource on cryptocurrencies.

2. My Personal Finances an extensive resource of articles on all aspects of personal finance.

3. BalkoniHijau How to make money, save money and spend money – Helmi has it all. He’s also an AirBnB entpreneur.

4. Arkaysthoughts is the personal website of Roshan Kanesan, host of BFM’s weekly personal finance show.

5. Radical Ringgit – Lots of great articles about saving, investing and achieving financial independence. Good articles for newbies.

6. Ringgit Genie has solid, thoughtful content on personal finance issues such as investing, buying properties but also has the occasional lifestyle article.

7. FIHolic covers all aspects of personal finance; his reviews on various services such as Stashaway and Hello Gold etc are very helpful indeed. Ian’s perspective on life as a doctor (and the financial challenges that come with it) is a unique read.

8. Between the Money Jason writes about his “”crazy passion” for various aspects of personal finance. He also shares his investment portfolio.

9. The Millennial Finance brothers Edly and Emir write and vlog about making, saving and investing money.

10. Money Magnet writes about personal finance from a mother’s point of view.

11. How to Finance Money is one of the heavyweights of the personal finance blogging world. Lots of insightful articles by CF Lieu, who is a licensed financial adviser.

12. Black Belt Millionaire writes about personal finance, personal improvement and more. He has a podcast too.

Personal Finance blogs that teach you about investing

These bloggers are focused on the mechanics of investing your money so that it works harder for you.

1. Kopi and Property Charles gives tips on property investing. He is very frequent with his updates!

2. Marcus Keong wants to make “”stock investing simple”. Good, solid articles on investing in various investment vehicles.

3. Dividend Magic Leigh has been so open about his investments and we’ve learned a lot as a result.

4. KCLau has a wealth of content about investing, especially in stocks and properties. Very practical advice and tips offered.

5. No Money Lah is run by Yi Xuan, who has a “particular enthusiasm” in REIT investing.

6. Siva Satish, a lecturer, shares his experience with investing, which seems to be primarily dividend investing.

Personal Finance blogs sharing their Financial Independence journey

These bloggers are sharing how they’re achieving financial independence.

1. Flames of FI shares articles about life optimisation and practical finance tips. Mr & Mrs Flames are “Slow FI” advocates.

2. Mr & Mrs Money blogs about investing, retail properties and financial independence.

3. Ringgit Freedom is run by Gracie, who is roughly in her 30s. Despite her young age she’s made impressive progress so far, having achieved a 45% savings rate by end of 2020! Her aim? To reach 1mil net worth by 2024.

4. Airy Lim shares her journey towards eliminating her debt and gaining financial independence.

5. Figuringgitout calls herself a “”financial wreck” but seriously, naw! Glad I found this gem as she’s “figuringgitout” her personal finance journey.

6. Ringgit on Fire has a growing archive of content on how to spend, save, invest money towards financial independence.

7. Purple Cotton is a person’s tattle about a “normal financial journey”. I love a good old multi-niche blog, and besides money, TPC writes about faith, life and even share recipes!
